Pat Roberts Concludes 38 Years at FAB’s Helm

Heather Lomagistro steps into the role of president/CEO

Heather Lomagistro is the new president and CEO of the Florida Association of Broadcasters.

She succeeds Pat Roberts, who was the longest-serving president of a state broadcast association, having been its leader since 1988.

Lomagistro most recently was executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Roberts will now serve as president emeritus in an advisory and advocacy-focused role. “Leading FAB has been the honor of my career, and it is a place I will always champion,” he said in the announcement. “What I’ll carry with me isn’t any one fight we won — it’s the people, the stations, and the communities they serve.”

Lomagistro said that Roberts “leaves a legacy few in any industry will ever match.”

In June the association announced that John Soapes of Hearst had moved into the board chairman role, with Jason Meder of Cox Media Group as chairman-elect. Lara Kunkler is immediate past chair.
