BBC Podcasts Will Be on Nation Player App

App offers free access to U.K. radio and podcast content

BBC Podcasts will soon be available on the Nation Player app.

“In an industry first, Nation Player and the BBC have agreed to make the BBC’s leading podcasts available on its free and easy-to-use mobile app, available on Apple and Android,” the supplier announced.

Nation Player focuses on U.K. audio content. It uses AIM Player technology from All In Media, part of Xperi, and includes access to Xperi’s DTS AutoStage hybrid car platform.

Parent company Nation Broadcasting is a U.K. broadcast firm founded by Jason Bryant. It owns a portfolio of national, regional and local commercial stations as well as several related businesses including transmission software supplier Factum Radioscape, and it operates DAB transmission facilities.

“The agreement will see BBC Podcasts taking a high-profile position on the Nation Player app main page alongside a host of other broadcasters and podcast providers,” according to the announcement.

Nation Player offers free-to-access radio and audio with live radio stations and podcasts from a variety of broadcasters and podcast providers. It is available in the U.K. on Apple and Android devices and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
