We’ve received word of several radio outlets who will offer programming in commemoration of the 25-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Audacy’s WINS(AM/FM) in New York
In New York, Audacy’s 92.3/1010 WINS will air live coverage of local commemorations throughout the morning on Friday.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., reporters Juliet Papa and Scott Stanford will co-host the start of the annual 9/11 Memorial ceremony from the studio through the first moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. The station will carry the ceremony live through the reading of the names and moments of silence honoring those killed on Sept. 11, 2001, and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, as well as those who have died from 9/11-related health conditions.
WINS reporters will be stationed across the NYC tri-state area to provide live updates from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Atlantic Beach, ceremonies at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field and the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund.
FOX News Audio
FOX News Audio is offering special multi-platform coverage across satellite, syndicated talk and network feeds.
On SiriusXM, FOX News Headlines 24/7 will offer updates on commemorative events every 15 minutes throughout Friday. Leading up to the anniversary, FOX News Radio has been airing a two-week series of daily one-minute feature reports spotlighting individuals personally affected by the attacks.
FNR will also provide news coverage of the New York City memorial ceremony featuring live reporting from Ground Zero. FNR syndicated talk programs — including The Brian Kilmeade Show, Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla and The Guy Benson Show — will interview survivors impacted by the tragedy.
Additionally, FNR affiliates will receive an anniversary special hosted by Kilmeade reflecting on how the nation has evolved over the past quarter-century, with select historic 9/11 interviews featured on YouTube.
WUNC News
In North Carolina, public radio station WUNC(FM) News will broadcast two special programs commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The station will air NPR’s “25 Years After 9/11: What Have We Learned?” hosted by Mary Louise Kelly. The special features a panel discussion recorded before a live audience on Sept. 9, with Kelly revisiting the national and global legacy of 9/11 alongside former government and intelligence officials. The program airs Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m.
WUNC will also broadcast the BBC documentary “The Reunion: The 9/11 Attacks.” Hosted by Kirsty Wark, the program brings together survivors and first responders who were at Ground Zero that morning. Featured guests include former New York City Fire Department Battalion Chief Joseph Pfeifer, the first commander on the scene who later served as planning chief for the rescue and recovery operation. The documentary airs Sunday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m.
WTAX(AM/FM) (Springfield, Ill.)
Newstalk 93.9 & AM 1240 WTAX will air an extended special report on Friday, Sept. 11, starting at 7:30 a.m. Central. The coverage will run for at least an hour on-air and via CapitolCityNow.com before the station resumes regular morning programming at 9 a.m.
Benztown
Imaging and audio production company Benztown has released four original audio tributes titled “Honoring 25 Years. Remembering Forever.” The commemorative audio packages are available at no cost to all radio stations for broadcast use.
