Add another radio station to those offering podcasts. Investors.com reports that Bonneville’s WTOP(AM) begins podcasting next week.
The idea is to reach commuters who can’t hear the station in their cars because they commute by subway or commuter railroad.
The Washington outlet is going to make MP3 files of the radio station’s street reporters, according to the Web site.
“Getting 20-somethings to pay attention to their father’s radio station is priceless,” Jim Farley, vice president of news & programming, told Investors.com.
The station will produce a newscast exclusively for downloading, re-purposing material from the daily news content.
