WorldCast Systems’ Ecreso FM 5 kW/10 kW transmitter can now be used in Germany, as the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (ARD), has officially approved the product for German public broadcasters.
The new Ecreso transmitter is based on a design that provides 1+1 levels of reliability. The power amplifiers, power supplies and fan modules are hot swappable and redundant.
A six-way coupler helps to ensure if an amplifier should fault, the transmitter can stay on-air indefinitely until the fault is addressed.
The ARD is the association of public broadcasting corporations within Germany that sets the specifications that any manufacturer wishing to sell to any ARD broadcaster needs to comply.
