Tieline Adds a Little Bit XTRA

It will show the Bridge-IT XTRA II Codec in Las Vegas

Codec manufacturer Tieline will show its new Bridge-IT XTRA II audio codec at the NAB Show. It is a 1 RU version of the half-rack Bridge-IT II that debuted last year.

These codecs are intended for home studios, remote broadcasts, STLs, studio-to-studio links, and multi-unicasting and multicasting applications.

Both models include a front-panel screen and keypad for menu navigation, XLR analog and digital AES inputs, and a range of encoding options.

“New features to support modern networking requirements include native support for AES67, ST2110-30, ST2022-7, Livewire, Ravenna and AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05,” Tieline said.

Also new are two full-duplex mono connections, or full duplex stereo; multiple Ethernet and AoIP ports; auto failover to another connection, HTTP stream or audio file playback; and support for wireless cellular modems.

Automated failover and SNMP support STL links. SmartStream Plus redundant streaming and Fuse-IP data aggregation are included.

“They also connect over SIP with devices that are EBU N/ACIP Tech 3326, 3347 and 3368 compliant,” Tieline said.

“The ToolBox HTML5 web-GUI and optional Cloud Codec Controller software provide real-time monitoring and remote management of connections.”
