VoxGuard Minds the Voice

Primacoustic shows portable mic stand gobo

Primacoustic, a division of Canadian audio equipment maker Radial Engineering, has released a gobo that attaches to a mic stand.

The VoxGuard attaches to a microphone stand (floor model) or a boom via a standard mic clip.

The sound-deadening component consists of a lightweight ABS plastic shell with an acoustic foam interior. The sweeping design of the shell allows it to “surround” the microphone, thus isolating it from ambient sounds and keeping sounds destined for the microphone from bleeding over into other mics as well.

Besides studio use, the VoxGuard would be welcome in location situations wherein talent can be confronted with unwanted, unpredictable and uncontrollable location noise.
