WideOrbit Upgrades

Radio automation, traffic and sales modules improved

Radio automation and broadcast business software developer WideOrbit has announced a series of upgrades to various modules in its lineup.

WO Automation for Radio is now available in version 3.0. New features include multimarket file transfer capabilities, enhanced user rights and controls along with a “Canadian content calculator.” If you need one, you already know what it’s for.

WideOrbit also hinted that a “work-saving feature” would be demoed at the NAB Show.

WO Traffic is up to version 6.5. According to a release, it includes, “new tools to tag programming for spot placement compatibility or copy violations, create custom, multi-level order approval workflows and book, bill and report on detailed non-linear Internet campaigns.”

WideOrbit Founder and CEO Eric R. Mathewson said website advertising is increasing as a percentage of the overall revenue of the company’s clients’ media properties. “So we’ve continued to improve our core WO Traffic system with tools to support non-linear booking, reconciling, invoicing and reporting of Internet campaigns in combination with traditional airtime schedules. The coordination of these two ad sales processes is critical to running an efficient station or network advertising sales operation.”

Last, WO Sales 2.1 will be debuted at the NAB Show. According to WideOrbit, WO Sales 2.1 has improved reporting and proposal functions.
