RFS to Close Australia Facility

End of broadcast manufacturing will be felt in Kilsyth

The end of broadcast and defense equipment manufacturing at RFS will mean the closure of a facility in Australia, according to a letter to customers in that country.

RFS Australia General Manager Gopal Naidu wrote that the company’s office in Kilsyth in the state of Victoria “will complete its manufacturing commitments by 16 December 2022 with the office to close early in 2023.”

We reported earlier that RFS had written to customers about the decision to stop its broadcast and defense manufacturing, except for cable products.

Radio World has reached out to multiple RFS officials for comment on that story and the impact of the closure in Australia. None has replied so far.

A YouTube video posted in 2013, below, provided a look at RFS’ Australia operations.
