MOUNT OLIVE, N.J.�Integrated Media Technology has been acquired by critical wireless communications provider xG Technology Inc. IMT, a digital microwave systems manufacturer, will continue to make its existing product line, but now as part of xG Technology, it will also be able to provide a mobile broadband system to its customers, according to a press release about the deal.
The xMax is xG�s mobile broadband system, which delivers on-demand voice, video and data services to both fixed and mobile users and is interoperable with existing cellular, public safety and other dedicated networks.
As part of the acquisition, IMT�s video transmission technology will add new markets as xG will provide its customer base in the public safety, DoD and critical infrastructure sectors with IMT products.
