The ABC Radio Networks gospel music program “Rejoice! Musical Soul Food,” along with Isoplus hair care products and the Integrity Gospel record label, announced the winners of their national competition to find the best Gospel church choir in America. Church Gospel choirs from across the country were invited to submit entries on tape or CDs, and a panel of judges comprised of ABC Radio Networks executive and staff narrowed down the entries based on production quality, lyrical content, and overall appeal.
The first place winner was the New Life Cathedral in Brooklyn, NY. It will receive a $5,000 cash prize, a 3-day workshop with Gospel Music Songwriting/Producer Joe Pace, a concept video, which will air on the World Television Network, and the choir’s demo will be distributed to national record companies.
Placing second was the Peter’s Rock Temple in Starkville, Miss. The choir will receive a $3,000 cash prize and its demo will also be distributed to record companies.
