The FCC has sent out more notices of illegal pirate radio broadcasting to property owners and managers.
Four were sent by the New York office of the Enforcement Bureau:
- A Kansas-based mortgage company that owns a property in the Bronx received a notice about unlicensed broadcasts there on 105.3 MHz.
- A management company in Manhattan got a notice about a signal on 91.7 MHz in Brooklyn.
- Clive Ritchie and Michelle Ritchie were told about a signal on 98.9 MHz in Mount Vernon, which is just north of New York City.
- An LLC in Brooklyn was notified about signals on 94.9 MHz in northern Manhattan.
Meanwhile the Miami office of the bureau sent a notice to Joseph Pacius and Myriam Pierrevilus about an unlicensed signal on 106.5 in Lake Worth, Fla.
In the letters the FCC noted that pirate radio fines can now range up to about $2.5 million.
The recipients were told they have 10 business days to show that they are longer permitting pirate radio and to identify the individuals involved.
