James Cridland is leaving Virgin Radio to assume the position of head of Future Media and Technology, Audio & Music, at the BBC as of 9 July.
He is tasked with contributing to the development of the BBC new media strategy and providing strategic focus for new media technology within BBC Audio & Music. He will also prioritize investment and resources relating to new media technology across the BBC portfolio.
Cridland is currently digital media director for Virgin Radio, responsible for strategy development, technology planning and content direction of the Virgin Radio digital media portfolio.
