Hundred Hand Slap Creates Hybrid Jingles for Canada’s Rawlco Radio

It includes core jingles, sonic mnemonics and talkover beds

From our “Who’s Buying What” page: In Saskatchewan, Canada, audio agency and production company Hundred Hand Slap has created new branding packages for CFMC(FM), “C95” in Saskatoon and CIZL(FM), “Z99” in Regina.

Former BBC Radio lead producer Matt Fisher has curated the collection, which is built around what the company describes as a hybrid approach to modern radio branding rather than treating jingles, station imaging and sonic branding as separate. We wrote about Fisher’s catalog of production music.

“Traditional sung jingles still have an incredible ability to create emotional connection and brand recall, but stations now need an audio identity that works everywhere,” he said in a release.

Developed around each station’s “Number 1 Hit Music Station” positioning, the package includes five core jingles, shotguns, ramps and talk-over beds. Each element is built around the same sonic identity.

The sung melodies offer hooks traditionally associated with radio jingles, while contemporary imaging provides a more energetic flavor.

The audio signature can be lifted from the jingle and used on social media videos, podcast intros and other digital content.

While created specifically for Rawlco Radio, the package has also been designed for re-sing and adaptation in other markets, Fisher said.

Alongside its production music library, Hundred Hand Slap creates sonic branding, custom music and audio production for stations.
