Customers of Broadcast Electronics have been wondering what the sale of its parent company Elenos Group might mean for BE.
The short answer, at least for now, is not much.
As we reported earlier this month, Elenos Group has been sold by its founder Leonardo Busi to DACTA, a company launched by Marco Brivio last year. Both firms are based in Italy. Elenos includes the brands Itelco Broadcast, Elenos and ProTelevision, all part of the acquisition.

But in the original social media post, it was unclear whether BE — which Elenos acquired in 2017 — was part of this sale.
It was not. BE President Rich Redmond now confirms to Radio World that Busi remains its owner.
“We hadn’t been that tightly integrated with Elenos,” Redmond said. “Leonardo still owns BE, and we’re continuing to build and ship transmitters and software from our headquarters in Quincy, Ill.”
Radio World has requested comment from Busi about why he retained BE and will report any reply.
Separately, DACTA officially announced the Elenos acquisition in a Jan. 25 press release, in which it confirmed there is “no collaboration between DACTA and Broadcast Electronics.”
