MeasureCast Weekly Internet Radio Listening Index Shows Increase

MeasureCast Inc. is reporting a 10-percent jump in the Internet Radio Listening Index for the week of Sept. 9-15. The increase is on the heels of a 13-percent drop the week before, due in large part, according to the company, to the Labor Day weekend.
Total time spent listening to Web radio stations as measured by MeasureCast is up 142 percent so far this year. Twenty-one of the MeasureCast top-25 Internet radio stations streamed more hours of programming than the previous week. Twenty-one stations saw larger audiences.
Clear Channel Worldwide and MusicMatch Inc. each streamed more than one million hours of Internet radio content. Statistics show a majority – 79 % – of all online listening happens during work hours. Sixty-nine percent of listeners are men, 31% women.
