Telos Presentations Tackle IP Remotes, Routing

Company also will give attendees a look at its new Zephyr/IP broadcast codec.

Telos Systems says its booth schedule for next week’s NAB Show includes sessions that aim to “demystify” IP remotes, and ease automated routing. The company also will give attendees a look at its new Zephyr/IP broadcast codec (Z/IP) and Nx12 multi-line talkshow system.

Marc Johnson, eastern applications engineer, will explain how the company’s Nx12 can help solve talk show problems at Monday’s “12 Lines, No Waiting,” 4 p.m.

Tuesday’s “Automated Routing Made Easy,” 10 a.m., presented by Dan Bays, author of PathfinderPC router control software, demonstrates automation of router scene changes, which traditionally meant messing with custom code or command-line switches.

Telos CEO and Founder Steve Church explains the mechanics and dispels myths about using the public Internet for radio remotes at Tuesday’s “IP Remotes Demystified, Featuring Zephyr/IP,” 4 p.m. The talk includes a discussion on the most effective codecs, and a walkthrough of the Z/IP.

Additionally, Kirk Harnack, international sales director for Telos, and also a station owner and broadcast engineer, will give a presentation on the features and capabilities of the Z/IP, Wednesday at 10 a.m.
