NewsCloud Supports New Worldwide News Network

This is the first North American deployment of the platform

The new Worldwide News Network, or WWNN, is using Radio.Cloud’s NewsCloud platform.

Opened in May immediately after CBS News Radio closed shop, WWNN delivers radio news reports to stations at the top and bottom of the hour. It is owned by Red Apple Audio Networks. Lee Harris is VP of news.

NewsCloud is a newsroom tool that the company says drives more productivity and efficiency.

Radio.Cloud CEO and founder Christian Brenner said in the announcement, “While Radio.Cloud has supported hundreds of affiliates across the United States with cloud-native radio automation for many years, this marks the North American debut of NewsCloud, our newsroom platform.”

WWNN went on air at midnight on Saturday May 23, less than an hour after CBS News delivered its final report. Another North American user, RNN, also is using NewsCloud; it launched May 25.

Brenner said the cloud-based NewsCloud is on the air with three national networks in Germany and Austria.
