Broadcast Engineering Conference Topics Announced
     

The NAB has released a listing of topics for its Broadcast Engineering Conference for the big show in Las Vegas in April.

For radio broadcasters some of the more interesting tidbits: Advanced Technologies for Radio; IP for Radio; Spectrum Matters; Audience Measurement Technologies; Radio Receiver Technologies; AM Band Revitalization; Technical Regulatory Issues; Cloud Based Storage and Distribution and Planning for Safety.

There will also be a number of related specialized gatherings: an EAS Panel, the Radio Engineer’s Forum, an IEEE-BTS Tutorial — “IP in the Broadcast Plant” and an SBE Ennes Workshop — “Alternate Broadcast Delivery — How to Make it Work.”

In addition, a special RF Boot Camp — “Understanding Radio and Television Transmission” is planned. Scheduled hosts are Mary Ann Seidler and John Bisset of Elenos and Cindy and Gary Cavell of Cavell, Mertz & Associates. According to a description, the boot camp is designed for personnel who might be unfamiliar with transmission technology but should have a solid acquaintance with it, such as station and network IT personnel or small station management.

The NAB Show will be April 6–11 in Las Vegas.
