Swiss Set FM Switchoff Plans in Motion

Switzerland’s Digital Migration Working Group has chosen 2024 as the date when the country will officially switch from analog radio to DAB+. According to Radio La Wendel, this end date was determined based on information previously presented by the advisory group.

The information was presented at the end of May as part of the country’s road map to digital. The working group includes representatives from public and private broadcasters, OFCOM, Swisscom and other industry players.

Attendees learned about the planned schedule, legislative and regulatory implications, technical and incentives aiming to promote the sale of receivers. A special focus will be made on improving the in-car listening experience.
