RadiOrizzonti Deploys DHD DX2 Mixers

Broadcaster serves Lombardy region of Italy

From our Who’s Buying What page: RadiOrizzonti, a regional broadcaster in northwest Italy, is using five DHD DX2 audio mixing consoles for the control hub of a rebuilt production and on-air studio.

The project was supervised by systems integrator BVmedia.

BVmedia’s Senior Project Manager Roberto Zeccara said the talk radio channel is run by volunteers and that ease of operation was an important factor in the design of the facility.

“The installed system makes full use of automation,” Zeccara stated in a DHD press release. “It is controlled by a DHD core matrix with three additional cores linked to all five DX2 mixer panels at the production site. This comprises an on-air studio for a 90 percent live talk show plus two production studios which are assigned to podcast creation and multiformat recording.”

The system is an AoIP infrastructure using Audinate Dante. “The XC3 cores can carry up to 1,024 channels on just one data cable. Analog cables are only needed for local monitoring and headphone signals distribution.”
