COLCHESTER, Vt. � Brian Marshall has announced his retirement from Vermont Public Radio, where he has worked as a broadcast engineer since 2003. In that role, he was charged with building and maintaining FM transmitters.�
�By 2016 we had 15 full service transmitters and 14 translators ranging in power from 10 Watts to 50 kW ERP,� Marshall said.��Our most recent project, not quite done yet, has been installing a GatesAir FAX 5 transmitter at WBTN[FM].���
He intends to continue to work fro VPR on a part-time basis.
In 1972, Marshall began his broadcast career at VtETV (today known as Vermont PBS) as a master control operator, where he then transitioned to transmitter operator. He spent the next 30 years building and maintaining UHF television transmitters, in addition to contract engineering work for several radio stations, according to VAB. �
