DRM Schedules Special Round Table in India

Held Jan. 31, the event aims to help the launch of the next phase of the DRM project

Digital Radio Mondiale in collaboration with BECIL, is organizing a special round table event titled “Digital Radio for All: Achieving PM’s Dream of Digital India.”

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the event, which is open to all stakeholder groups involved in the launch of digital terrestrial radio in India. Other participants will include senior officers in the Ministries of Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, Road Transport & Highways, Prasar Bharati, All India Radio, radio receiver manufacturers, automobile manufacturers, National Disaster Management Authority and private FM broadcasters.

According to DRM, the aim of the meeting is to help the launch of the next phase of the DRM project by incorporating the views of all stakeholders for the successful deployment of all features of DRM digital radio. This, it says, “will ensure that high quality sound, additional services, exciting content and the DRM’s extra features are available to enhance and enrich the lives of Indian and overseas listeners.”

The event will be held Jan. 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Shangri-La’s — Eros Hotel in New Delhi.
