WSOU Staffers Mentor With CBS Radio

Unusual college radio station program bears fruit for participants

WSOU(FM), a student-run radio station at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., has something a little unusual for a college radio station — a mentoring program.

Recently, as part of that program, two student broadcasters, Nick Durant and Tim Bonomo, visited WCBS(FM) in new York. There they toured the facilities and sat in on programs. Their visit was facilitated by former WCBS Program Director Richard Lorenzo, a WSOU alum himself.

The mentoring program connects current members of the student staff of the college radio station with station alumni for regular one-on-one conversations, events, leadership coaching, career advice and more.
